Varsity Co-Captains Take Baseball to the Next Level
Congratulations to Varsity Co-Captains, 2013 MVPs and All-Region honorees Brian Strahan and Kyle Jamar who will continue their baseball careers next year in college. Brian earned a presidential scholarship to play with NCAA Div. III Piedmont College, and Kyle agreed to join the University of West Georgia, a Div. II program, as a preferred walk-on.

Both right-handers' contributions to Richmond Hill's Region Championship win were impressive. Strahan was 4-0 with a save in region games with a 0.60 earned run average, striking out 17 in 23 1/3 innings. He had big wins against Effingham Co., Glynn Academy and Jenkins late in the season to help keep the Wildcats atop the standings.

Meanwhile, Jamar went 2-1 with a 2.13 ERA and struck out 27 batters in 26 1/3 innings while also winning the region clincher against Ware County. He will join a West Georgia team that battled through injuries in 2013 to finish 27-24
and advance to the Gulf South Conference semifinals.

We wish these two continued success at the next level!
